Our reading
theme this week was about jobs we could have when we grow up. We will also
learn about words with the vowel sound spelled oo. We reviewed and learned a
few more high frequency words. |

Math We are started a
unit on 2-digit addition We will continue to do lots of hands on activities
to reinforce this skill. We also do a story problem daily. |
|
LBW
Leadership Day On Monday, May 6th
we will be having a LBW Leadership Day celebration. The kids will be doing
activities to celebrate leadership. The kids are asked to wear LBW clothing
if they have it or black and/or gold. |
|
Declam Declam Day will
be held on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. The kids will recite a short poem for
judges. They will be judged on how well they present the poem. Your child has
a poem to start practicing. It is being sent home with the newsletter. Thanks
for helping your child learn their poem. |
|
Shoes
Many of the kids
are learning how to tie their shoes—Thank you!! Please continue to help your
child practice tying their shoes. A lot of teaching time can be used tying
shoes. Thanks for your help!!! |

Snack Thank you to the
families who have sent snack. The kids sure do need to have a little something
extra to eat during the day. The cupboard is starting to get a little bare.
If you haven’t sent a snack yet please do. |

Book in a Bags Please
continue to have your child read the book in a bag book to you and send it
back to school each day. The more books your child reads the better reader
your child will become. The children can also earn prizes for every different
classroom 10 books that are read. |

Gym Day Gym days are on
Monday and Thursday please remember to wear gyms shoes on these days. |
